As there was little opportunity to practice yoga while growing up in Myrtle Beach, SC, Rebecca's mom bought her a book about yoga to fuel her interest. When she taught herself crow pose from the book she was hooked. Rebecca completed 500 hours of yoga teacher training in 2010 and left a corporate job to open Yo Yoga in 2011. A welcoming, peaceful oasis in NYC that included a rooftop for outdoor classes and grew into a warm and dedicated community. The brick-and-mortar studio closed after 10 years due to the Coronavirus pandemic but the community continues on through virtual classes. Rebecca and Yo Yoga! have been written up in the New York Times, Time Out New York and Southern Living and have been featured on MTV, Cheddar and New York One. Rebecca’s teaching style focuses on alignment and mindfulness without losing the elements of fun and humor.
